This doesnt necessarily mean that you will have to be a recognized expert on the subject, although it would help to have more than a casual interest in what your blog is all about. Keep in mind that your readers will gradually come to depend on your blog as a source of information that they cannot get anywhere else, and being knowledgeable in your niche would ensure your reputation as a person of authority.
Ripping off other peoples content is a no no. If you have nothing at all to write on your blog, resist the urge to lift content from other blogs. You certainly dont want other people to steal your content, so dont do it!
Lastly, do not take advantage of your anonymity on the Internet. Even if you are writing under a pseudonym, there is a possibility that your blog will be traced back to you someday. It is therefore important to make sure that you do not engage in any online behavior that is at odds with your actions in the real world.
