For those of you who have spent their childhood under a rock, curious george is a character in the books written by Hans Augusto Rey and Margret Rey. The character curious george is a very curious monkey whose name is George. Curious George was brought from Africa by the character called the man with the yellow hat to live with him in a large urban city. The stories detail the adventures of the man in the yellow hat and curious george the curious monkey. The first curious george childrens book was written in nineteen forty, and from there a total of seven original childrens books. Only seven books you say? Well, technically no, there were many more books released under the name of curious george, but there were only seven original books written by the original authors Hans Augusto Rey and Marget Rey. The rest of the childrens books were put out by the publisher, Houghton Mifflin located in Boston Massachusetts, not by the original authors.
Childrens books are not the only product that carried the iconic curious george monkey on its cover. There have been a full length feature film, as well as a popular television show that has detailed the curious exploits of that familiar monkey. Will Ferrell voiced the character of the man in the yellow hat in the film released in two thousand and six. Even the giant company Disney considered producing a film starring that famous monkey, but sadly that did not come to pass. The famous curious monkey also made his way into the game of video games as well. In two thousand and six a video game was released with the curious monkey as the main character by Monkey Bar Games. There is even a gigantic theme park in Florida.
