Baby announcements now

Sending out baby announcements has become very trendy. I know we received a card with a picture of a newborn is fairly frequently at our house. And I always wonder, how do these new parents have the time to send out baby announcements given that they are dealing with a newborn in their house perhaps for the very first time. Particularly for first-time parents, this seems very difficult.

Someone told me about a trick recently that makes sending out baby announcements much easier on a new parent and I thought I would share. The trick is to set up the announcement card ahead of when the baby comes home from the hospital. That is, you set up everything except for the picture. There is a fair amount of work involved in the selection of paper stock, font, message, colors and other decisions that go into a baby announcement card. You can do all of this before the baby is born and that will save you a ton of time. After the baby comes home from the hospital, all you need to do is add the picture and tell the printer to let it rip. You can even have the entire mailing list are down file at your card printing shop before baby arrives.

I thought this was a great trick and a great timesaver for new parents. When baby first comes home from the hospital things will be chaotic. And the last thing you'll want to think about are the logistics behind sending out baby announcements to your friends and family. To use this trick and have everything set except for the picture and you will save valuable time and get valuable sleep while still keeping your loved ones informed about the new member of your family.
